Some companies were sweet enough to donate products to this years Candlelight Vigil, and I would like to thank them for their kindness.
Thank you to Jason Gianfriddo of "The Christmas Moon" for his donation of battery operated candles for our vigil, as well as Fawn L. Patrick with Improvementscatalog.com

Of course we needed power for our candles, and they were kindly sent by Linda Swart with the Gillette Company, which donated Duracell batteries to us!

This could not have happened without the support and hard work of a few angels online that have been writing to companies across the Internet, D'Nea and Marta, you are both such a blessing, thank you for making my dream come true!

THANK YOU TO THESE WONDERFUL PEOPLE!!!
The song which you hear on this page is a section leading into another one of Craig Deanto's songs for the children. As tears fell, partially hidden by raindrops, these lyrics were repeated by it's creator along with the parents and friends at this year's vigil. The song is "I Hear Them Crying", copyright©2000, all rights reserved.

Though I was not able to attend the 2000 vigil due to medical reasons, Marta, Sheila, John, Craig, Hobo and other friends were on the phone several times a day filling me in on visits to the Senators office, contacts they were making, and helping me feel like I was truly there. This page would not be possible this year without the photos taken by Sheila, Marta, Joyce and Hobo (Bud), and a warm hug goes out to each of them.

I felt that the note below from Marta captures all the emotions and feelings as the candlelight vigil began it's journey to Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House.
Hi everyone ~ The Vigil was AMAZING!!  Even though some of you were not here physically, your presence was felt in every moment.  Your support and prayers were felt.

As the moment for the Vigil approached last night, and the parents and supporters began the task of putting together the most amazing clothesline (Made up of T-shirts bearing pictures of each missing child) from A to Z, I hold 8 pages full of the names of these missing angels, the skies opened up and let open floodgates of rain, thunder and lightning.

That did not stop anyone from assembling in the front lobby, grabbing hold of a metal pole which held together the clothesline. Everyone marched silently, each with a battery operated candle lit in support of each child. The human line was impressive as it 'snaked' its way through three blocks of downtown Washington on its way to the White House. Cars stopped to honk, look and ask about our cause. I had never seen anything as moving as these little T-shirts hanging from the clotheslines and moving in unison towards one goal.

The parents held up well, sang loudly and were interviewed by reporters that attended the march. These parents and supporters risked their lives and health as the downpour got heavier and the lightning fell around them.

Let's hope that this one small Candlelight Vigil will unleash the power that these parents and supporters need to BRING THE CHILDREN HOME!!!!
Thank you for your prayers and support. ~ Marta
Photo from the Washington Post, which covered the Candlelight Vigil along with several local and national news stations, as well as producer Robert Levin who is known for his work on the Discovery Channel, Justice Files, A&E Network, 20/20, and several ABC News Specials, to name a few.

The caption on this photo states: Adrianne Delgardo, right, whose 9 year old daughter, Falon Aubury, is being held in the Bahamas, joins other parents of children abducted and taken abroad in a candlelight demonstration in front of the White House. With her is her other daughter, Daxanne Aubury, 5, and friend Carmen DeLeon. The issue has gained greater attention with the efforts of Elian Gonzalez's father to take him back to Cuba.

There is a multi-talented singer and composer by the name of Craig Deanto who has
donated his time and talent to the children as well. Craig has just completed a CD with Walter Orange and Mikael Manley of the Commodores as well as Florida singing sensation, Kim Thomas. It has some very moving and powerful songs included. Craig has performed at the last three vigils, and the parents look forward to the love and emotions that are the force behind his music.

The song you are hearing on this website is one of his that was created for the emotional gathering at this year's vigil. It is entitled, "I Hear Them Crying" and is copyrighted in the Library of Congress 2000. Craig recorded this song so the parents can remember
the emotions from the vigil 2000. This website is dedicated to them. This year's other new song, "Free The Children" can be heard on the continuation of this one: Candlelight 2000 ~ Page Two
